STLF at a Glance
Why does STLF exist?
Stemming from a late-night dorm room conversation among four college freshmen at the University of Minnesota, STLF is now a student volunteer-driven nonprofit that impacts people and communities across the country. STLF has three primary means of carrying out its mission:
- Pay It Forward Tour - Engages students in a traveling leadership experience focused on service, education, and reflection.
- High School Leadership Camp - Focused and intensive leadership experience through which students build lasting relationships and discover personal and transferable skills and leadership.
- Access Partnerships - We seek out opportunities for partnerships to increase access to our programs for all youth.
What is STLF?
STLF is a growing 501(c)(3) non-profit based in Minneapolis, MN. With an emphasis on leadership development through youth programming, STLF's vision is to leave an everlasting impact on the world.
How does STLF grow?
STLF is growing for students and because of students. STLF experiences provide opportunities for growth that have students wanting to come back to the organization. These experiences change people, and through these individuals, STLF is changing the world.
STLF has grown from 43 participants serving nearly 700 hours, to a movement of young people making a significant impact in the world.
STLF success is due to the dedication from the individual people who continually work to shape, develop, and cultivate the organization into what it is today. This reach is thanks to the infrastructure of the College Chapters. They provide college volunteer leaders who lead and grow all of STLF's programs.

Where is STLF?
STLF has 13 college chapters, supported through conferences, retreats, and an ongoing relationship between the individual chapter and STLF National. There are also 11 high school affiliates in the nation. Overall, STLF has served over 120 communities through its programs.
What sets STLF apart?
STLF is extremely focused on fulfilling its mission statement every day. This student-led organization allows leadership opportunities for all people, with a high commitment to action on students' campuses and in their communities. STLF hopes to reveal leaders and positively impact people who then change the world.
